Hello!
I'm Maddie, an illustrator and comic maker living in St. Louis. I love cannellini beans, Jane Austen, and little brown birds.
The delightful lettering artist Jessica Hische once said, "There need to be people who show us that the world is a beautiful place worth saving." When I heard that, I felt like I had found myself a calling: to search out beauty in the little things, the daily things. My favorite themes are sisterhood, friendship, connection to divinity, and humor in the everyday.
I've had the lucky chance to work on two religious books for children with For Little Saints, as well as children's magazine editorials, and self published comics.
MFA in Illustration and Visual Culture from the Sam Fox School of Design and Visual Arts at Washington University
BFA in Illustration from Brigham Young University
Awards:
Bronze Award for Society of Illustrator Los Angeles 25'
Rose O'Neil Award for Distinction in Illustration
Featured in American Illustration Annual 24'
